Each year tradition has shown Australians coming together to celebrate all things Irish and to observe the life and passing of one of Ireland’s foremost patron saints, St Patrick. Despite its Christian roots, this day has now become more about celebrating Irish culture in general.
Ireland has a public holiday to mark the occasion, but here in Australia this year we have decided to dedicate an entire weekend to donning our green, and drinking beer!
From Friday the 16th through to Sunday the 18th of March P.J.O’Brien’s will be throwing the biggest, best and most authentic St. Patrick’s Day parties across Melbourne and Sydney. There will be live entertainment, flowing Guinness and lots of craic throughout the weekend. (We will be celebrating in Cairns for one day too).
P.J.O’BRIEN’S MELBOURNE (SOUTHBANK)
It all begins Friday with after work drink specials and live Irish music from 6pm. Then come and join us for a big St Patrick’s Day breakfast on Saturday (bookings advised), followed by a full day and night of celebrations, before rolling in again for an all-day breakfast on Sunday, which is sure to cure any hangover!
The Sydney party begins at lunchtime on Friday, and the live music starts at 6pm. Doors open at 8am Saturday for a BIG IRISH BREAKFAST (bookings advised) with Irish dancers and live music, which is set to continue throughout lunch and dinner, and into the evening. On Sunday you can join us from 1pm with more live entertainment, drink specials, and an ‘Irish Festival After Party’ from 6pm.
If you’re in transit in Melbourne on Saturday March 18th we are holding a one-day celebration at P.J.O’BRIEN’S MELBOURNE AIRPORT (VIRGIN DOMESTIC TERMINAL), where you can enjoy a Full Irish Breakfast from 7am!
