Sydney Irish Festival – P.J.O’Brien’s Sydney
November 11 @ 11:00 am - 11:59 pm
P.J.O’BRIEN’S POP UP PUB AT THE FESTIVAL – SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER
As well as being an official partner we are also excited to announce that we will have a P.J’s Pop-Up Pub at the Festival so you can visit us for a Glass of the Black stuff, exclusive to our P.J’s Pop-Up Pub at the festival.
The 2018 Magners Sydney Irish Festival is celebration of all things the Irish culture has to offer: sport, food, drink, dance, music… and most importantly, having fun.
The jewel in the festival’s crown however, sees the Galway Tribesmen, winners of the 2017 GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship and home to no less than 7 All Star players, take on the reigning 2018 Allianz League Champions Kilkennyin a historical hurling game at Spotless Stadium.
This is more than an exhibition, with the winner earning direct entry into the 2020 incarnation of the tournament and being awarded the coveted Wild Geese Trophy. The trophy is set to mark the cultural respect that exists between the Australian and Irish people and has been named in honour of 6 Fenian brothers who successfully escaped W.A. and the drudgery of a British ruled penal colony in 1876; an act of defiance that would later become known as the Catalpa Rescue.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and one the entire family will enjoy, so don’t miss your chance to witness a festival that is truly like no other.
