Business Development Manager | Red Rock Venues | Melbourne

At Red Rock Venues, we’re a proudly homegrown hospitality group with a footprint stretching from Melbourne’s lane ways to the tropics of North Queensland. Our portfolio spans more than 30 unique venues — from iconic pubs and stunning Southbank destinations to decadent beer halls and vibrant Thai restaurants. While each venue offers its own distinct personality, they all share one thing in common: a commitment to genuine hospitality and unforgettable guest experiences.

This Melbourne-based role is focused exclusively on our Victoria venues. We’re seeking a seasoned Functions, Events & Business Development Manager who thrives on strategic outbound sales, relationship building, and the hands-on aspects of delivering high-impact events. It’s a great opportunity for someone passionate about growing business across multiple venues while staying closely connected to day-to-day hospitality operations.

About the Role:

You’ll work closely with venue managers, operations and the marketing team to drive results. You will be eligible for a generous bonus incentive scheme.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new opportunities for partnerships, activations, and function growth
  • Attending networking events and being a visible Red Rock Venues ambassador
  • Building and nurturing relationships with local businesses, corporate clients, and community stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with hotel and office concierge teams
  • Managing function enquiries and converting leads into bookings across multiple venues
  • Collaborating with venue teams to deliver high-quality, memorable events
  • Contributing to and evolving our group-wide function strategy

About You:

You’re confident, proactive, and genuinely love connecting with people. With a strong commercial mindset and a passion for hospitality, you’re equally comfortable meeting KPIs and building relationships face-to-face.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in function sales or event coordination (hospitality/events industry)
  • Outbound sales experience is highly desirable
  • Brings strong interpersonal skills and a relationship-focused approach
  • Has a flair for local marketing, networking, and business development
  • Is highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Can work flexibly across venues and during peak trade periods
  • Shares our love for great food, great drinks, and creating memorable moments
